Ever wondered what it would be like to have ones very own chickens in the backyard. Then why not build your very own chicken house. A healthy chicken will look after you as long as you look after them. A symbiotic relationship between fowl and human. You help them and in turn they will reward you with their fruits, in this case eggs. Much better than a fruit in my opinion. However, we can’t be without fruits either.

Having a chicken house has many benefits too. Since we mentioned fruits in our writing above, how do chickens help one with fruits.

Simply put: if you have a fruit tree in your backyard you can use the dropping from the chickens as fertilizers to boost healthy soil levels and in turn all the nutrients seep into the roots of the fruit tree.

Chickens are lovely creatures who are content on living in small spaces. I am not for those who breed chickens for the sake of profit. No, chickens produced in mass production is not only cruel to them but also inhumane. But, that’s my point of view. I value everyone who has decided to go natural to have their very own chicken coops in their backyard. Even if you decide to consume the chicken at the end it is better than the chickens you buy from your markets.

By having your own chickens you are sending a signal to that kingdom that you don’t want to be part of the cruel world they have entered. They can roam in your space freely an in return they provide you with their eggs. Chickens are like any creature, although not sentient like humans they don’t like to have their freedoms subjected into a cage all their lives.

Chickens who live in a backyard or in open spaces free to roam around during the day are chickens who are content in their existence. For them having a nest or on this case a proper coop (aka chicken house) gives them that security during the night from predators. One needs to keep the chickens safe from roaming cats and other creatures during night time. Chickens also need shelter from cold weather too. So having a properly build chicken coop or chicken house gives them that total security. They look forward to laying their eggs once again the next day or so.

Feeding Your Chickens

Feeding your chickens is also vital. Whatever you feed your chickens will eventually reflect back in the quality of their eggs. Chickens fed well will be great producers of eggs that are basically full of life giving nutritious food.

Having organic eggs gives any person the energy and sustenance to last them all day. When I consume an egg in the morning I feel really full until 3pm. Even at 3pm I don’t feel the need to eat but need to otherwise the cravings start and one tends to put on weight.

Eating healthy food will help you in the end to shed weight. Proper nutrition is vital to your health. Looking after your chickens is also a reflection on the mind-full attitude you hold toward yourself. It is show of how well you care for your own body as well.

The steps to getting your chicken coop all ready and functioning will take some work on your part but it’s well worth it. As I’ve mentioned above of the importance to your health and also how it reflects your humanity toward these creatures. Whatever the purpose you have for your backyard chicken coops there is a part of you that really cares for these creatures. It is a joy to have them around and another to see life in ones backyard. It also adds value to your existence.

The job of building a coop can be best described as one of exhilaration and joy. Build it once and enjoy it forever. Look after it from time to time and use a bit of your time maintaining it and you will have a never ending supply of healthy food.
